Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum

This successful site employs c230 people and specialises in the design and manufacture of a diverse range of connectors and interconnect products for a highly demanding customer base in the Aerospace, Military and Industrial sectors. Poised for further growth, and investment, we are now seeking to recruit a CNC Programmer / Engineer who will help deliver unrivalled levels of excellence. The successful applicant will be an onsite CAD CNC program writing specialist, providing the Machine Shop Setters with CNC programs that will incorporate SMED and other lean manufacturing techniques.


Key Responsibilities include:

*Producing CNC programs for Fanuc controlled multi-spindle, multi-turret turning machines
*Working in conjunction with the CNC Setters and Operators to prove out programs on the shop floor
*Liaising with Manufacturing Engineers and Setters to incorporate best practice techniques for future programs
*Supporting NPI to the Machine Shop, working with the Design Engineering team
*Developing and maintaining the tool library


Essential Qualities include:

*CNC machining and programming experience
*Experience in the implementation of set-up and cycle time reduction
*Manufacturing experience, ideally within a component or assembly industry
*Experience of reading and analysing technical drawings
*Experience and ability of dealing with day to day production issues, cost reduction and quality improvements, as well as lean implementation, new product introduction and best cost manufacturing routing
*Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
*Ability to use CAD (Pro-E or equivalent), with good computer skills including Microsoft Office
*Lean and continuous improvement skills, including SMED, PFMEA, PPS, etc
