22 hours per week, 52 weeks per year


We are looking for a HR and Payroll Assistant to join our HR team and provide administrative HR support to our schools and Central Services teams. This position will be based in Medway at the Trust Central offices at New Horizons Children’s Academy.


This role will be 3 days per week, the days are flexible and can be discussed at interview.


You will be required to support the Trust’s HR, Payroll and Recruitment function, assisting our Central services and Academies in all administration relating to HR, payroll, recruitment, record keeping and documentation. The successful candidate will be joining a small, welcoming team who work closely together and enjoy supporting one another.


You will be required to respond to HR and payroll queries from our schools’ staff, and to ensure that staff are paid accurately and on time. The post-holder will be a first point of contact for advertising all vacancies, and will attend recruitment events, as well as assisting in the organisation of Trust recruitment events and other HR events. We are currently bringing our HR and Payroll function fully in-house for the new academic year; you will play a part in shaping this project and ensuring that the HR transformation is a success.

Excellent administration skills and office experience
Experience working within an operational HR and payroll team, recruitment experience would be beneficial
Hardworking individual
Quick to learn and motivated to deliver a high level of administration support to our schools across Medway and Portsmouth
Able to work quickly and efficiently in order to reach the best outcomes at all times
Good ICT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Previous experience of using a HR/payroll system
Confident with meeting new people
Able to work independently
Maintain confidentiality inside and outside of the workplace
