Business Development & Marketing Officer

£27,830 to £32,236 per annum

We currently have an opportunity for a champion in sales and marketing to join the Centre for Higher & Degree Apprenticeships, you will have a passion for developing and implementing marketing campaigns, whilst supporting business development, including publicity, outreach and employer engagement.

You will be co-ordinating a range of activities, aimed at promoting higher & degree apprenticeships, to both employers and prospective learners.

As a Business Development and Marketing Officer you will:

Work closely with the SMT, help provide strategic direction for the Centre’s marketing activity; ensuring marketing activity is in line with University and the CHDA strategies and achieves stated aims.
Manage successful marketing campaigns from initial planning through to benefits realisation, ensuring campaigns are kept within agreed budgets and offer excellent Return on Investment.
Maintain up to date knowledge with new and amended apprenticeship standards and the Centre’s growing portfolio; communicate this effectively to relevant audiences and stakeholders
Actively engage in Business to Business sales, to increase new apprenticeship business opportunities for the University
To succeed in this role you will have:

GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent and be educated to degree level or education to Level 3 plus equivalent work experience
Experience of implementing a marketing strategy and experience of running various marketing campaigns
High level of literacy and excellent oral and written communication skills including clear and effective presentation skills and the ability to produce clear and concise printed publications and online content
The ability to deal confidently with a range of people at all levels
Flexibility to work across different locations and hours, and the ability to travel to meetings/events etc. practically, by own means
The University of Kent has delivered higher apprenticeships since 2011, working with industry-leading employers including GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Novartis and Unilever.

Kent launched the Centre for Higher and Degree Apprenticeships in 2016 to build on this experience to help deliver apprenticeships tailored to their needs. It also has an important role to play within the University, supporting academic schools on all aspects of delivering apprenticeship training
