About the role: Leigh Academies Trust have a fantastic opportunity for a committed and motivated Premises Operative to join our experienced, knowledgeable and collaborative Site Team. The Premises Operative will assist the wider Site Team with the care of the Hoo Peninsula Primary Academies, ranging from general maintenance duties including minor repair and refurbishment works, porterage and other duties, supporting the Estates Manager in ensuring the health and safety and security of a busy academy. Applicants will need a flexible approach to working hours and duties and may be required to cover the duties of other team members in their absence, occasionally. The role is on a permanent, Term Time + 2 week inset basis and the successful candidate will start with us as soon as possible.

Applicants need to be trustworthy, reliable, hardworking, physically fit, conscientious and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Ideally you will have good DIY skills, some knowledge of Health & Safety, basic IT skills and an understanding of safeguarding. We offer fantastic CPD opportunities as an academy and as a wider multi-academy trust so can provide support if there are any areas that you may need to be upskilled or trained.

We will be conducting interviews on a rolling basis until an appointment has been made, therefore early applications are encouraged.

Working with Leigh Academies Trust: As of September 2019, our Trust is comprised of 25 geographically organised academies (11 secondaries, 13 primaries and 1 special) educating over 15,000 students, and employing over 2,500 talented staff. We also have three further academies in development phase, due to open between September 2020-2021. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North West Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training providers and a large teaching school.
