Senior Accommodation Officer – Maternity Cover - up to 13 months

£31,936 to £34,898 plus essential car users allowance

Maidstone, Kent

Maidstone Borough Council

Here at Maidstone we have created a housing management and support team to manage and oversee our temporary accommodation and other residential sites across the district. We are looking for a passionate Senior Accommodation Officer to help support and embed our new drive to end the cycle of homelessness into our service delivery and ensure a safe and compassionate offer to customers.

The post holder needs to be a motivated individual with the ability to work in a changing and dynamic environment with minimal supervision. Our accommodation service can be pressured with competing priorities so we are looking for someone who thrives on a challenge.

The job will involve managing a team alongside the Accommodation Manager, communicating with both internal and external stakeholders, supporting homeless households into and out of accommodation, providing on-going support to families and individuals with complex needs, undertaking health and safety checks and monitoring of accommodation to ensure it is fit for purpose.

Some weekends, evenings and early morning work may at times be required.

Maidstone Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expects all employee and volunteers to share this commitment.

The Council considers that the successful applicant will have access to young people and/or vulnerable adults and it is a requirement under

The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 that you hold an enhanced disclosure and barring scheme check. Upon successful appointment, you will be required to provide evidence of an enhanced DBS check if you subscribe to the DBS Update Service or complete the process to obtain a DBS check.
