Payroll Assistant (Part time – 22.5 hours per week)

Based in the stunning setting of the Precincts of Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey – a World Heritage Site – The King’s School is one of the oldest and most prestigious Schools in the country with an enviable record of academic excellence and achievement.

The King’s School requires a professional person (with at least 2 years’ experience in a Payroll post) to assist our Payroll Manager in ensuring the timely and accurate payment of all staff in accordance with their contractual terms and conditions of employment, is carried out, in line with statutory regulations and King’s School policies.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:
• To ensure timely and accurate payment of all staff – in excess of 850 (Academic and Support)
• To ensure that all payroll deductions (such as PAYE, NIC, AEOS and pension contributions) are correctly and accurately calculated, deducted and remitted
• To assist with the administration of the School’s pension schemes. (Knowledge of Teachers Pensions Schemes and auto enrolment procedures would be an advantage)
• To ensure that payroll records are accurately maintained
