Kent Wildlife Trust is the leading wildlife charity for Kent and Medway, supported by its members and staffed by committed professionals. Nature is in trouble and it needs our help. Kent Wildlife Trust has a plan to aid nature’s recovery and we encourage people to join us to make a difference.

The role:

The Wilder Kent Education & Engagement Officer is a new, innovative and exciting role at the forefront of engaging communities in learning, understanding and caring for their local environment and landscapes. You will encourage and support engagement; tackling the climate and environment emergency through taking local actions which have a global impact. This role crosses the work of two dynamic departments, which aims to maximize the impact of our work for conservation, education and engagement.

You will develop a network of contacts, partners, stakeholders and community groups that are able to deliver or co-deliver activities and events. This role will also include planning and delivery. All engagement will educate, inform and empower communities to better understand what we are trying to achieve through our Wilder Kent work.

This is a post which will use a broad mixture of skills. The qualities of the individual appointed to the post will play a large part in determining the nature of the job.

We are looking for someone who has experience of delivering a project that has engaged with partners, stakeholders and community groups, of delivering educational programmes and events and has a good understanding of the wilding/re-wilding concept. If you are also very organised with energy, creativity and the ability to come up with new or exciting ideas and enjoy being outdoors in all weathers, this could be an ideal role for you.
