Application Form

Housing Led Coordinator (Accommodation Resettlement Worker)

£22,492- 25,349 per annum

Dover, Kent

Porchlight

Closing Date: 11th December 2020
Interview Date: 22nd December 2020

About us: Porchlight is a charity supporting people who are homeless, vulnerable and isolated. At Porchlight, we are passionate about helping vulnerable people to reach their full potential. We strive for a fairer society where vulnerable people find stability, the most excluded are included, and where homelessness and poverty are things of the past.

The role: We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic person to join our Outreach team in partnership with Dover and Folkestone district Councils. You will be delivering a Housing Led Project to provide some of the most disadvantaged rough sleepers in Dover and Folkestone areas with the opportunity to secure stable accommodation and to support them to make positive changes in their lives. These individuals are likely to be entrenched street homeless people, have complex support needs and have a history of non-engagement. If you are proactive, have excellent communication and negotiation skills and want to support people to have a life beyond the streets, then please get in touch.

What you need: You must have a comprehensive understanding of the principles of the Housing First Model, have strong administrative skills, the ability to pay excellent attention to detail and be a good communicator. You will be working as part of a wraparound, holistic service. You will need a compassionate approach and the ability to work with each client to set clear goals and boundaries to empower them on a person-centred program of rehabilitation.

The principles:
- People have a right to a home
- Flexible support is provided for as long as is needed
- Housing and support are separated
- Individuals have choice and control
- An active engagement approach is used
- People are supported to identify their strengths, goals and aspirations
- A harm reduction approach is used

Benefits: As a member of the Porchlight team, you will have access to a wide range of employee benefits including:
- free life insurance
- flexible working hours
- 25 days holiday per year (increasing to 30 days after 5 years service)
- Porchlight pension scheme
