The University of Kent Academies Trust are seeking to recruit a hardworking individual for the role of Cover Manager at Brompton Academy. This role is 35 hours per week, term time only and is being offered on a permanent basis. Some flexibility in the working pattern is possible, however, the successful applicant must be available to start at 7.00am each day.

The Cover Managers are responsible for coordinating and allocating daily cover arrangements for planned and unplanned staff absence. The postholder will line manage the Cover Supervisor team and may be required to supervise whole classes during short-term absence. The Cover Mangers will liaise with one another regularly and as a Trust team, will build solid and long-lasting relationships with our preferred recruitment partners to ensure our academies are securing the best staff at preferred rates. You will work closely with the HR and Talent teams at the Trust regarding recruitment and will supply daily updates to assist those teams in managing absence and to support staff wellbeing.

To be successful in this role you will need to be well organised, confident, resilient, proactive and will have excellent time management skills. For this front facing role, you will be a highly effective communicator, able to negotiate and will have the ability to offer support and empathy to your colleagues. You will demonstrate through your application and the selection process, your go-getting attitude, creativity, problem solving, and your solutions focused mindset. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, however, full training will be given. You may have previous experience in logistics or coordination, and we would encourage you to describe how you think these skills might be applied to our Cover Manager role.
