Monday - Friday 7.30am - 4.15pm
This will initially be in a 6-month fixed term contract, which could potentially be extended or moved into a permanent opportunity.
We are working with a leading engineering business in Dartford with over 100-year history. Due to increased demand, they are seeking a Production Operative to join their established team. This will initially be in a 6-month fixed term contract, which could potentially be extended or moved into a permanent opportunity.
The purpose of this role is to work as part of a production cell team to manufacture the parts and the final assembly of high-quality products. This requires an attention to detail and the ability to follow work instructions. The person will be contributing to achieving the production cell's targets, ensuring the products achieve the quality standards, are delivered on time, and built within the required time requirements.

Duties include
*Responsible for the assembly of products by multi-skilling across five process points within the production function.
*Ensuring that work is produced to an acceptable quality standard before submitting to the next step in the process.
*Ensuring that the speed of production is adequate to meet the agreed output standards.
*Operating a variety of equipment to support with the assembly processes.
*Working against detailed work instructions to ensure that work is executed to a high and consistent quality standard.
*Contributing towards the team effort by working as part of a production team to achieve and exceed production targets.
*Identifies opportunities for improvement that have a direct impact on performance - SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People)
*Reporting any issues or non-conformances to the relevant stakeholders to ensure that appropriate action is taken.
*Carrying out basic manual handling duties.
*Maintaining a safe working environment in line with Health and Safety guidelines.
Requirements
*A mechanical, electronics/electrical, production or manufacturing engineering background is highly desirable
*Proven experience of working in a fast-paced environment on a production line or within a production cell or similar
*Has the ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions
*Good written and verbal communication skills
*Excellent attention to detail whilst maintaining a consistent level of pace (in accordance with production targets)
*Thrives under pressure
*An electro-mechanical based qualification is desirable, but not essential
