My client a well established MSP with their long-standing expertise in Microsoft products, remote working, networking and data storage, they set about building one of the most sophisticated Cloud platforms available to small & mid-sized businesses.

By partnering with the likes of Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, Nutanix, Fortigate, Citrix and Veeam, they deliver best in class security, networking and storage solutions.



They are currently seeking a 2nd/3rd line Infrastructure Support Engineer to join their expanding team and can bring to the table the following skills and knowledge.

* Firewalls - Fortinet



* Switches - Cisco Nexus/FortiSwitch/Meraki



* Servers - HP



* Hyper-Converged Infrastructure - Nutanix



* Virtualisation - Vmware, AHV



* Storage - Nutanix/Tegile/QNAP



* Backup - Veeam Backup and Replication, iLand

Infrastructure Side:

* Take responsibility for the maintenance and management of Skye's Cloud platform and Data Centre estate

* Collate and maintain up to date documentation on the systems and setup that constitute my client's Cloud and Data Centre Setup

* Work with the Infrastructure Manager to Monitor resource load by client in order to gain an insight into usage trends for capacity planning
* Monitor and maintain Customer and Internal Backup schedules, ensuring all retention levels are in line with agreed

* Act as an escalation point for the 1st Line Engineers, taking ownership of the problem and providing troubleshooting assistance and Root Cause Analysis where needed

* Monitoring of firmware and software versions and management of updates in accordance with client maintenance windows

* Ensure correct and most efficient packaging of services in conjunction with Technical Director and Managing Director

* Maintain up to date knowledge of the latest technological developments and key infrastructure vendors to promote new products and services or complimentary technologies, either internally or for the existing customer base

* Work with the Infrastructure Manager to coordinate upgrades to infrastructure, data centres and client services

* Work with the Infrastructure Manager and Head of Sales to define on-boarding processes for the migration of new client contracts, including the assignment of required technical resources and implementing this within Autotask

* Provide regular update training to the technical team around the technology, platform and complex customer setups

* Work with the Cyber Security Manager to implement the highest levels of security across Skye's own Cloud infrastructure and hosted client systems

Pre-Sales Side:

* When required to do so, work with the sales team on specific opportunities (including those generated through channel partners) to provide technical presence during commercial meetings

* Work with the sales team to define and design the most suitable solution for each opportunity and when necessary, research alternatives or complimentary services to fill any shortfalls in our own offering

* Work with the Head of Sales to deliver product training and updates on features and benefits to the sales team

* Assist in updating and maintaining effective commercial documentation and diagrams for use in proposals, tender templates and marketing collateral

* Maintain an up to date and efficient demo environment for client meetings and presentations

* Work with the Head of Sales and Infrastructure Manager to define and implement efficient handover of new contracts from sales to technical team, allowing flow of all details and special conditions

* Develop and implement a more efficient audit process and documentation and provide training to both sales and technical team on what it covers and when it's to be used
