Do you have experience of supporting individuals into employment and an understanding of the graduate labour market?

We are seeking an Employability Adviser to join our award-winning Careers and Employability Service. The role will see you supporting students to prepare for their future lives through the delivery of a dynamic programme of events, activities and one-to-one support services.

The work requires exceptional organisation and planning skills and an ability to work flexibly and cooperatively with a team as you will be responsible for delivering a high volume of one-to-one support for students within your allocated Academic Divisions.

As Employability Adviser you can expect to get involved in:

delivering high quality, industry informed workshops to students and graduates, both within the curriculum and on a co-curricular basis, to help with the development of employability skills
supporting students on a 1-2-1 basis with job applications, interviews, assessment centres and more broadly, job hunting
working with industry on a regular basis, including reaching out to relevant companies and employers to understand their recruitment needs and provide platforms for them to promote their opportunities
defining, designing and delivering projects and activities that support students, particularly those from widening participation backgrounds
What we are looking for in the right candidate:

a first degree and/or substantial experience in a similar or related role
experience of working with a diverse client group encompassing a broad age-range and from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
experience of building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to help meet strategic goals
effective written and verbal communication skills with good listening and empathy skills
