An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced children’s Support Worker to support and promote the independence and confidence of an engaging and happy 7-year-old boy.

Our Client is in a wheelchair following an injury to his spine.  He requires assistance with mobilisation and catheterisation with the monitoring of skin integrity and observation of any medical deterioration being key requirements of the Support Worker role.  Our Client lives at home with his family and pet dog in Weybridge and attends a local mainstream school.  There is scope for the successful candidate to join the existing support network within the school environment, promoting his learning and therapy programmes which form part of his daily routine.

This endearing young man enjoys all the usual age-appropriate activities including sports, gaming and spending time with his family and friends.  We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Support Worker to provide a positive guiding influence as our Client begins to develop his independence away from his family.  The successful candidate is likely to be energetic and proactive Support Worker with a desire to promote our Client’s wellbeing and happiness whilst actively supporting his therapy and rehabilitation programmes.

We are offering excellent rates of pay and are looking for a dedicated Support Worker to join the team for the long term as continuity of care is very important for this Client.

Available Hours:

Term Time (13½ hours per week)

Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 15:30 – 20:00

Non-Term Time (13½ hours per week)

To be worked by prior agreement in accordance with the needs of the Client but will fall between Monday – Friday and within the hours of 09:00 and 18:00.

It is expected that there will be potential for overtime as the role develops.

Rates of pay:

Monday – Friday:                   £16.00 per hour

Saturday & Sunday:               £17.00 per hour

Bank Holidays:                       1.5 x usual weekday hourly rate

Person Specification:


Experience of supporting children within their homes and the local community.Level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable.Knowledge and experience of care plans, medication administration, personal care and continence care.Good written and verbal communication skills.Comfortable with IT and able to ensure our Client can access the full range of resources crucial to his day-to-day life and learnng.Able to work well as part of a small team but be able to self-direct tasks and activities with our Client.Support our Client’s rehabilitation as instructed by his team of therapists.Full clean driving licence is desirable but not essential.
