The Best Connection are currently seeking to recruit a Maintenance Electrician to work for a company based in Farlington, Hampshire

Duties to include but not limited to:

Ensure that all works carried out on any site within Portsmouth are undertaken with full regard for the safety of yourself, colleagues, contractors and members of the public.
Ensure that all works carried out on any site within Portsmouth are undertaken with due regard for the environment, to prevent pollution, comply with legal and corporate requirements and minimise environmental impact
Support all aspects of company H&S;

Near miss and, incident reporting and, investigations.
Attending toolbox talks
Work with street lighting risk assessments & method statements
Work with the street lighting COSHH assessments
Carry out point of work risk assessment.
Responsible for carrying out all associated installation and commissioning works to specified BS7671 standards.
Responsible for attending street lighting related faults in a timely manner ensuring contract response times are met.
Responsible for producing all associated test results and, documentation within the required timescales and to the highest quality.
Provide accurate daily time sheets.
Supporting senior supervisor in producing and maintaining your HEA/NHSS 8 Sector Scheme portfolio.
Attend out of hours emergency attendance on a rota basis
Must be capable of working as a team as well as on their own
Proactively identify areas of H&S risks whilst conducting your on-site works.
Demonstrate discretion in respect to confidential and commercial information when interfacing with external customers.
Undertake risk assessments and method statement reviews for all works undertaken
To carry out other appropriate duties as assigned by Senior Supervisor.
Undertake out of hours (including weekend) standby cover for urgent street lighting related faults on a rota basis
Carry out emergency RTA attendance and safely isolate affected equipment and then carry out repairs
Qualifications:

Minimum City & Guilds Part 1 or equivalent
Previous street lighting desirable but no essential.
HEA/NHSS 8 Qualified Supervisor desirable but not essential.
Hold a valid ECS/CSCS card
Experience:

Experienced with regular external customer contact in support of delivery requirements.
Experience working with SWA cable
Identifying faults.
Experienced and competent fault finding.
Resilient and able to problem solve when under pressure in the field.
Must possess a deep customer centric delivery focus.
Proven experience of working with, and jointing swa cable
Effective time management techniques are required to organise the workload associated to this role. Prioritises own activities via consultation with Supervisor.
Strong communication skills.
The role will be mainly in an external environment, specifically urban roads, which include factors such as adverse weather and environmental conditions, the general public, a significant level of manual handling.
Full clean UK driving license Ability to travel.
Ability to work at heights
Working Hours - 39 hours per week, call & standby every 3rd week.
Pay Rate £15.53
