Principal Data Scientist - London - £100-120k + Benefits + Bonus

Hays Intelligent Automation are working with a leading Insurance firm who are looking to hire a Principal Data Scientist.

The successful Principal Data Scientist will require advanced knowledge and expertise of modelling methodologies, dataset generation/transformation, statistical programming and analysis.

They will be expected to drive a team in a dynamic, global environment and take the lead on analytical initiatives, impacting the firms underwriting and marketing.

You will be required to:

- Apply statistical and data mining techniques to identify profitable growth areas and optimise portfolio performance.

- Analyse complex insurance risk factors and deliver results to a variety of stakeholders, underwriters and product manager.

- Build cutting edge predictive models and analytic solutions that will support underwriting functions.

- Extract and manipulate data, using data management tools (internal and external sources).

- Analyse data and then develop innovative solutions to drive profitability and/or growth.

- Collaborate with business leaders on a regular basis, to understand issues and recommend/provide solutions.

Qualifications:

+ Degree educated in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics or Computer Science

+ An advanced degree in Statistics or Predictive Analytics is strongly preferred

+ 8+ years of predictive analytics experience (Ideally in the insurance industry)

+ Thorough understanding of complex business challenges, design analytical solutions and advanced modelling techniques

+ Advanced knowledge in statistical analysis and multivariate procedures.

+ Knowledge of Machine Learning techniques and AI is preferred.
