Mechanical Engineer Job Purpose
Working within a small business to operate/develop and manage a Vibration Monitoring System for Clients across the UK but being based in the Sittingbourne, Sheppey, Rainham and Faversham, Kent area.

This job covers a wide field of roles in the vibration monitoring sector from manufacturing plants and pharmaceutical plants to construction, demolition and piling sites at various locations around the UK.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience in Mechanical Engineering, experience of Rollers, bearings, pumps and motors and some basic electrical experience. Training will be given where needed.

Mechanical Engineer Job Duties
• Collection of condition monitoring data from plant items and machinery, using techniques such as Vibration Monitoring and Thermal
Imaging at Client sites around the UK.
• Setup and implementation of condition monitoring programs with the support of existing staff.
• With flexible working hours and based from home, the Mechanical Engineer will be required to travel to companies on a daily basis,
working on a broad range of sites from Food and Drinks Producers, Pharmaceutical companies and Building Services companies to carry
out vibration data collection surveys and thermal imaging surveys.
• Download the data and carry analysis to compile reports from the data collected and liaise with the client on the condition of
equipment/plant on their sites.
• Visit Demolition, Piling and Construction Sites to install vibration, noise and dust monitoring systems. Re-visit sites to change batteries in
the monitoring equipment and liaise with the Site Managers, also collection of the equipment at the end of the monitoring period.
• Liaise with the VMS Project Manager and Operations Manager on a regular basis regarding installation of vibration, noise and dust
monitoring systems and obtain accurate photographic and detailed records of the locations and surrounding areas.
• Liaise with Project Manager regarding the equipment being installed and any issues arising.

Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
• Knowledge of condition based monitoring, vibration monitoring and thermal imaging.
• Ability to use software programs out in the field using an iPad.
• Engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years working within an engineering environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Sound ability to interpret and analyse data in a result orientated environment.
• Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work on own initiative and under pressure.
• Health & Safety (CSCS Card) would be an advantage.
• Capability to deal with continuous changes within the business and new technology.
• Ability to work at height.
