Citizens Advice Swale

Do you want to make a real difference and help address hardship caused by the current cost of living crisis? We are looking for an Adviser to deliver high quality advice across several channels, but particularly to Foodbank users to maximise their incomes, manage their money and reduce their need for foodbank support. In this rewarding job you will address presenting problems and tackle any underlying issues. You will spend some time on site in the Foodbank locations and follow up with clients either remotely or in our premises. Understanding and knowledge of other topics including housing, welfare benefits, employment and family issues will enhance the wider role of providing generalist advice to clients through a range of channels including telephone, email and face-to-face services.

You’ll have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, confidence, an empathetic manner and a good grasp of IT. You’ll work independently as well as part of the team within Citizens Advice Swale and with Swale Foodbank colleagues

You will need to be responsive to team and organisational needs, manage fixed and self-managed time effectively, and work well under pressure. Additionally, you must understand and value Citizens Advice aims and principles.

Citizens Advice Swale is an independent local charity providing free, impartial and confidential advice locally within the Borough of Swale providing supporting for over 5000 clients annually through our face-to-face, phone and online services.
