Salary: £30,000 per annum

Job Purpose: We are seeking a highly organised and results-driven Resource Planner to join our client in Dover. As a Resource Planner, you will be responsible for efficiently planning and allocating resources across the operations, including labour, assets, and customer requirements. Your primary goal will be to ensure the smooth flow of operations, meet service level agreements (SLAs), and optimise performance. With excellent planning, problem-solving, and communication skills, you will play a key role in achieving operational excellence.

Duties of the Post Holder:
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager and operational teams to schedule operations, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service while maximising resource utilization.
• Analyse data to forecast operational demand and proactively address any potential issues.
• Coordinate operational workflow based on projected volumes, providing dynamic resourcing solutions to manage surges in demand.
• Plan and prioritise operations to optimise performance and minimise delays.
• Determine the manpower, assets, and equipment required to cover vessel operations, considering the allocation of annual leave and training to balance operational employee hours.
• Assign employees to specific tasks and schedule shifts based on operational needs, maintaining an employee skills matrix and identifying training needs.
• Accurately record actual hours worked, annual leave, sickness, etc., for each employee, ensuring correct payroll processing.
• Address operational issues promptly, minimising disruptions, and identifying and addressing any skills gaps or resource shortages.
• Prepare and submit status and performance reports, including labour usage, overtime, and asset issues, and establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Maintain organised paperwork and collaborate with HR to ensure compliance with employee terms and conditions regarding working hours, annual leave, sickness, and allowances.
• Foster a collaborative approach to forecasting by working closely with colleagues across the organization to ensure effective resource planning.

The ideal candidate will have;
• Experience in a resource planning/capacity planning management role.
• Excellent knowledge of operational planning, preferably in the vessel/maritime or airport industry would be an advantage
• Experience with planning/scheduling systems (e.g., IFS) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
• Experience in forward planning and reactive planning/scheduling.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when producing shift and asset plans.
• Ability to plan, prioritise, and organise workloads, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Experience in producing and presenting status reports, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with working within a manpower budget.
• Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities.
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with peers, managers, and employees at all levels.
• Serve as a role model in creating a culture of integrity and respect, contributing to a positive and motivating work environment.
