HR Advisor - Sandwich (12 month fixed term contract)

We're delighted to be assisting our client in their search for an HR Advisor on a fixed term contract of 12 months. This is a 37.5 hour week role, but hours can be flexible and if you want to do all 37.5 hours in, say, four days, then you can! Or you can spread it from Monday to Friday. Hybrid work, where you could be working from home two or three days per week, but it can vary depending upon work requirements. You will be based in the Sandwich area, but there may be a requirement to visit other sites around Kent, so you must be a driver and have your own vehicle. Mileage will be paid at 58p per mile, after your normal commuting distance

Salary ranges from around £28,000 to £34,000 per annum, dependent upon experience, with benefits to include a whopping 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, an excellent pension scheme, employee benefits and discount card, health & well-being etc.

The HR Advisor will provide a comprehensive, professional, and business focussed specialist HR advisory service to staff across all sites and services, maintaining an empathetic and reassuring approach when dealing with particularly complex or sensitive information. You will support the Director of People, and will take a hands-on approach assisting HR operational activity to support the delivery of strategic objectives. This includes managing and/or actively participating in specific tasks and projects to align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organisation. The HR Advisor will be responsible for the line management, support, and development of junior members of the HR team, and will be required to cover, where competencies allow, the Director of People during times of absence. Key areas of work will be employee relations, workforce and resourcing, organisational change, pensions and payroll, coaching and development, line management, and administration.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

* CIPD Qualification Level 5 (minimum)
* Experience within a generalist HR advisory role
* Educated to degree or diploma level, or equivalent experience
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* Experience of providing ER advice to Managers
* Understanding and knowledge of current legislation and HR best practice
* Ability to interpret and apply terms and conditions of employment
* Experience of developing and delivering training to staff and Managers
* Good understanding of Microsoft packages
* Excellent liaison and negotiation skills
* Ability to communicate with Managers in a facilitative and supportive style
