An outstanding new instruction for a permanent Business Development Manager who can bring strong B2B experience to a company established for over 50 years specialising in cross-channel customs solutions.
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000 + uncapped commission which realistically could add on average £4K per quarter
Our client has helped some of the biggest names in freight and logistics get their goods where they need to be: on time and with minimal complexity.
Following a recent and exciting collaboration, their global reach has been boosted and has provided them with the resources to become one of the market’s broadest end-to-end customs services providers.
As a result, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their growing Sales team which consists of a Sales Manager, Sales Executive, and a Sales Administrator. This is a new position for the business following internal promotion to an employee, in a similar role.
We need someone with a strong emphasis on B2B NOT B2C which should be clearly evident in your work history. Someone who is able to drive planned business growth through the identification and conversion of new customers within existing regions and new territories.
The typical sales cycle and deal value can vary greatly depending on the size of the client brought on board – this could be an existing lead base, or entirely greenfield, the main purpose of the role is to branch into a new sector.
Preferred Experience:
Whilst some degree of industry experience would be an advantage, customs experience would be ideal, or any logistics experience also considered an advantage, although applications outside these areas will also be considered, providing there is an emphasis on B2B.
Job requirements:
Assist with the development and management of an effective sales strategy
Build and maintain relationships with customers
Identifying new sales opportunities through lead generation and networking
Research the market and competition
Attend trade shows, exhibitions and events
Client visits
Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients
Maintaining the CRM system
Produce regular reports on new client progress and prospect pipeline to inform management to enable future planning and decision making
Collaborating with internal teams, including marketing and customer support, to ensure a seamless client experience
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven success in B2B sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Industry experience would be an advantage, customs experience would be ideal, or any logistics experience also considered an advantage. Applicants outside these areas will also be considered providing there is an emphasis on B2B
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong IT skills including MS Office and email systems
Detail-oriented with multitasking ability
Collaborative and customer-focused
Industry knowledge is desirable, but not essential
