Claims Project Manager

Department overview:
The Claims department aim to be market-leaders in the provision of an efficient, cost-effective and professional service to our brokers and clients.
The Special Projects Team manages all claims deemed 'legacy'. Legacy is any discontinued business which has been approved for transfer to the department - currently c7500 direct and reinsurance claims covering multiple classes of business including; Marine, Aviation, Motor, A&H, Property, Banks Liability, EL/PL, etc.
The purpose of the team is to provide strategy and day to day management of legacy business under a simplified process and structure, to drive the closure of dormant claims, and to identify and actively seek commutation opportunities.
Key Duties:
·Drive, facilitate and deliver a customer focused approach to claims which is measurable through: speed of service and open, honest and personable communications with all brokers and (re)insureds.
·Review workloads and claim counts regularly and escalate any concerns you have trough your management reporting line.
·Manage potentially significant claims in line with the Claims Handling Manual and escalate any issues where appropriate.
·Perform account and class of business reviews with an aim to cleanse, close-out, and/or look to negotiate settlement or commutation.
·Use all systems including the reporting and data interrogation tools available for interpreting claims information for the benefit of the actuaries and daily management of the team's claims, Clients and portfolios.
·Provide high quality commentary on the weekly movements, monthly and quarterly reports to the Claims Director, highlighting significant new notifications, claim trends or developments.
·Ensure peer reviews are completed and any actions arising are completed, evidenced and escalated as appropriate.
·Carry out the required claim audits and have oversight of the outcome, actions arising and ensuring these are followed up appropriately, actioned and documented.
Skills, knowledge and experience
·Have a working knowledge of the claims environment and be an experienced claims practitioner with relevant London Market experience
·Be customer focused, in particular to understand the importance of the quality, clarity and speed of service delivery.
·Ideally have experience handling legacy claims as well as having strong negotiation skills
·Be a team player and be adaptable to multiple classes of business
·Have strong written and spoken communication skills in the English language
·Experience in account reviews, audits, and commutation negotiations
·Possess strong planning and co-ordination skills proven in a complex and rapidly changing technical environment
·Possess good IT (Microsoft Office) skills, including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook and ability to use or learn our in-house systems
