A fantastic opportunity to join Gallagher Aggregates’ expanding and busy Masonry Department, based at Hermitage Quarry near Maidstone. An ideal candidate will be self-motivated, excel on their own initiative and have sales and general administration experience within the construction or associated industries.
Sales Responsibilities
• Developing sales leads
• Creating sales opportunities
• Converting customer enquiries to sales opportunities
• Lead contact for customer site visits
• First contact for unsolicited sales enquiries
• Submitting quotations
• Monitoring outstanding debts
• Evaluating ABI Leads and create tender list of potential projects
• Documenting customer complaints
• Follow-up quoted customers
• Updating contacts list
• Monitoring and updating potential projects
• Sample management and follow up
Administration Responsibilities
• Creating delivery tickets
• Invoicing customers
• Collating estimates
• Input of estimating and sales data into main accounting system
• Programming works through the Masonry Workshop to ascertain workload
• Collating forecast of potential and tendered projects
• Presenting detailed information on the cost of particular elements of work on a periodic basis to enable payment for those works carried out to date
• Organising work packages to smaller, more specialised subcontractors and, in that process, finding out who offers the best deals
• Monitoring costs of purchases and establishing ‘Better Buys’ to ensure that the annual budget isn’t exceeded
• Arranging staff payments, timesheets and holidays
• Accessing productivity of operatives via weekly allocation sheets
• Acting as financial advisor and monitoring progress for the Masonry general manger and the senior management team
• Resolving with senior management any contractual and legal matters or complaints
