The Engineering team are responsible for the design and delivery of capital works schemes to ensure the ongoing supply of top quality drinking water now and to meet the future needs of our customers, across the south east. Our work includes developing new water resources, extending and upgrading treatment works and laying new water mains.
As a Trainee Reservoir Technician in our Engineering Department, you will support engineers and other technical staff in the delivery of the reservoir programme. You will gain workplace experience with the prospect of qualifications to support a solid foundation for a rewarding career within the Company.
Main responsibilities
Undertake reservoir inspections
Check inspection reports submitted by the contractor for accuracy
Handover sites to the contractor
Conduct site safety and environmental audits
Supervise construction works as SEW's agent
Support planning and coordination of reservoir outages
Update and maintain the maximo database and other reporting systems
Support the preparation of operational method statements
Prepare and submit discharge permit applications
Collate and prepare pre-construction information
If you are self-motivated, committed, organised, with an interest in engineering and the water industry and can fulfil the below we would love to hear from you:
Hold a full driving licence.
Have a minimum of five GSCE's with grade C or above in Maths, English and Science, with appropriate qualifications at a higher level an advantage. Evidence will be requested.
A good communicator with high numeracy and computer skills.

In return, we offer a competitive salary, a minimum of 25 days annual leave, a stakeholder pension scheme in which the maximum Company contribution is 10% and a life assurance scheme.
