About the role: Do you have experience working with children with special educational needs? Are you a teaching assistant who is eager to help students reach their full potential? We are looking for talented and committed Teaching Assistants to provide support for pupils who have a range of particular needs. The Hundred of Hoo Academy is a unique all through academy with pupils from Reception up to 6th Form. These opportunities are based within our St Werburgh Centre in the secondary phase of the academy.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to their development. You will be working in the classroom and implementing programmes of support designed especially to meet the pupils’ needs. The role is a fantastic opportunity for a new or established colleague who aspires to grow and develop as an outstanding Teaching Assistant within our improving academy. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are considering teacher training in the future.

What you think you know about us may be different from the experience, so we invite you to visit our academy and see for yourself... Come and absorb the atmosphere, see the interactions between staff and pupils and take in the experience that we can offer. Come and talk to the people who truly understand what it means to be part of this vibrant and exciting community dedicated to educating the children in our care. If you wish to discuss any aspect of this vacancy or arrange a visit to the academy, please contact Mrs Hoad, HR Assistant on 01634 251443 / hr@wtrust.co.uk

Working with our academy: In September 2011, The Hundred of Hoo converted to academy status and became a member of The Williamson Trust. Just one year later, Ofsted judged the academy as “good with outstanding features” recognising the relentless focus and ambition that we have. In September 2015 the academy welcomed its first Reception class thereby extending its age range to 4-year-old children. This exciting provision demonstrates the academy’s sense of ambition to serve the community where pupils’ academic journey represents a cradle to university principle.

We are delighted to announce that following a recent Ofsted inspection in July 2018 the academy has been judged 'Good' with 'Outstanding' features in terms of our early years provision and effectiveness of leadership and management.

Working with Leigh Academies Trust: As of January 2019, The Williamson Trust and Leigh Academies Trust have now merged which offers fantastic outcomes for all students and staff alike. We are now working collaboratively on recruitment to ensure we secure the very best talent for the benefit of our students. Click here to read more about the merger. If you're as excited by this opportunity as we are and are keen to join a collaborative and successful Trust, we’d very much like to hear from you.

Diversity at our core: As a Trust we are passionate about diversity and recognise that as individuals we all bring something unique to the role regardless of age, gender, race, beliefs or disabilities which is why we treat all of our people equally, without compromise. All roles within the Trust are subject to an Enhanced DBS check in addition to other pre-employment checks.
