SENIOR ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT – Fixed Term (possibility of extension)

Job Information

An exciting opportunity have arisen for someone who is organised, self-motivated, positive and who can work well in a small team. This is a great opportunity for a team player to gain exposure to all areas of accounts in a friendly and positive environment.
Term: This role is for a minimum of 8 months from start, to cover maternity leave from mid-June. Immediate start needed to facilitate training and handover.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Key responsibilities:
• Assist the Group Financial Controller with day to day cashflow calculation and monitoring
• Month End procedures and assist in Year End procedures
• Debtors and Creditors control and monitoring
• Carrying out supplier payments through Pegasus Opera III accounts software and Barclays Iportal
• RBS factoring system management
• Processing expense claims
• Manage petty cash system
• Processing cash transactions/bank reconciliations
• Creating pension files and submitting through Aviva
• Completing Government surveys
• Payroll related tasks – Payslips, RTI, PAYE processing, BACS

Your role will include
• Working as part of a team of four (The Group Financial Controller plus two Accounts Assistants)
• Managing the two other members of the team and making sure they adhere to their monthly deadlines & targets

Essential Requirements
• At least 3-4 years’ experience in an accountancy role, AAT qualified/ Part CIMA/ACCA
• Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of sales/purchase/cash management and nominal ledger/accruals and prepayments management
• Experience of running supplier payments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel & Outlook

Desirable Requirements
• Experience of Pegasus Opera III accounts software
• Knowledge in using a factoring service- RBS Fastflow an advantage
• Payroll experience
