Longfield Academy is seeking to appoint a Behaviour Support Mentor to join our highly successful academy. The role involves supporting all students in one of three Colleges, monitoring attendance, dealing with any behaviour issues that may arise and working with parents and other agencies to resolve situations successfully. The successful candidate will report directly to the College Leadership Team, working with identified students and implementing inclusive practices which enable the students to effectively access education. Our successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding issues.

Please note that the working basis for this role is 37 hours per week during Term Time only, and is a fantastic role for those keen to progress in their career to become a teacher or continue venturing down a more pastoral route. The academy opened in September 2008, replacing Axton Chase School. Since then student outcomes have rapidly improved. In May 2018, we were judged to be 'Good' with an 'Outstanding' Sixth Form provision - a well-deserved accolade. Our school is heavily oversubscribed in Year 7 and has a large and growing Sixth Form. In recent years, Longfield Academy moved into its brand new £25m building with state of the art facilities for learning across all subject areas.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: Being part of a successful multi-academy trust allows the academy to share best practice and collaborate with colleagues from a number of other schools in the local area. As part of the 'cluster' structure all of our academies are grouped together in key geographical areas to enable them to be able to support each other and share resources. Ideally you would have some experience working with young people. Most importantly you will have a strong drive to encourage students to make good choices about their situation and future.
