SALES OPERATIONS MANAGER

Swale Heating are one of the biggest and most recognised heating specialists in Kent since 1972, meeting the heating needs of the South East of England. We are trusted by our customers to keep them safe and warm, every day of the year - this overriding objective drives everything we do.

We are currently looking for a Sales Operations Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, committed professional to become a key member of a successful Sales Department and Ecommerce business with a combined annual sales turnover of £15m. Purpose of the role:

You will be tasked with optimising office-based administration by challenging existing processes and managing internal KPI’s. Managing a team of 8 administration operatives the role will require excellent communication and organisational skills combined with the desire to overachieve in a target-based environment. The role holder will also have responsibility for 8 field-based Sales Consultants. This will include regular performance meetings with focus on conversion rates and profitability. Additionally, the successful candidate will oversee the busy ecommerce and retail business, so the ability to multi-task is a must.

Key tasks include but are not limited to:

• Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of our key retail sales boiler installation division.
• Team-management leading office-based team of administrators and a team of field-based sales consultants.
• Achieving targets for number of leads booked for field-based sales team.
• Maintain conversion rates.
• Adapt and develop inhouse Aeromark software system, Aeromark.
• Ensuring that the desired number of sales appointments are attended each week.
• Setting and managing office based KPI.
• Optimising outbound phone call volumes.
• Act as point of contact between team and other HO departments.
• Data Management: monitor lead generation sources and provide insight and guidance on best performing sources.
• Problem solving and dealing with escalated customer concerns and troubleshooting for entire department.
• Managing sales reporting dashboards, providing advice to management and team on trends and courses of action.
• Create, evaluate and optimise data sets to provide department performance insight.
• Ability to understand and deliver sales targets via an established Ecommerce business.

Ideal candidate:

As a suitable candidate for this role you will have excellent communication and managerial skills and the capability to build a successful and empowered team leading them through our vision and values. You must be customer focused with the ability to make effective decisions and the ability to implement change. To be considered for this role, you must fulfil the following requirements:

• Degree level qualification or similar, or extensive appropriate experience
• 5 to 8 years’ experience in a target driven environment, preferably in a retail sales or services environment. Additional credit for heating industry specific experience
• Previous roles working within a KPI led department, including some supervisory experience preferably of a mobile sales team
• Track record of achieving stretching targets in a competitive commercial environment
• Sound interpersonal skills
• Proven experience in team management, particularly with leading and motivating team members to work to their best ability is essential.
• Demonstrable problem-solving capabilities
• Skilled Negotiator
• Experienced in data analysis
• Understanding Ecommerce advertising and marketing

Location & Travel:

This role is office based in Sittingbourne and may require occasional travel
