Are you a qualified project manager with knowledge of and an interest in equality, diversity and inclusion practices?
This fixed term position at the University of Kent will see you involved in our Student Success Project, making a key contribution to our vision of reducing educational attainment gaps.
You will provide executive and strategic support to the central Student Success Project Manager, to ensure the continued development and embedding of the Student Success Project across the University.
As Assistant Project Manager you will:
- Coordinate and manage tasks on the Project to ensure timely delivery within scope and budget
- Manage the central support to schools in planning Student Success interventions, liaising with Heads of Schools, Directors of Education and SAMs, to ensure optimum engagement and academic outcomes for students, particularly those from under-represented groups.
- Support the ongoing institutional research, applying findings to academic schools across the University
- Manage communications and relationships to keep University stakeholders informed of the progress of the project
To succeed in this role you will need:
- A project management qualification
- Detailed knowledge of EDI practices, legislation, etc.
- Sound experience and knowledge in monitoring and evaluating projects
- experience of managing staff
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to carefully check project documentation, analyse the project progress and predict trends and outcomes from such analyses
The Student Success (EDI) Project is an institutional research project investigating student attainment and retention.
The Partnership Development Office is responsible for supporting the implementation of the University’s widening participation strategy and for developing partnerships in the region, with a particular focus on sub-regional partnerships, in support of this strategy.
