Our rapidly expanding client seeks a personable, eager and enthusiastic Systems Engineer to join their team to support their growth. This is an exciting time to join as you will become the second member of the IT team, so will have the opportunity to get involved in a broad range of projects. They have grown to almost 60 employees in just 4 years, but still embrace a friendly family feel. The ideal candidate will have strong 2nd Line and possibly even 3rd Line experience.

Duties and responsibilities of the Systems Engineer

The role involves working closely with, and reporting to, the IT Manager to ensure all the activities of the organisation are compliant with the relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.

This includes, but is not limited to:
· Assisting with configuration and deployment of Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Server, Microsoft Azure and other infrastructure solutions
· Working in unison with in-house Communications Team on projects where required
· Documentation of Project works, with technical handover for on-going support and management
· Receiving and owning 3rd Line issues where required
· Performing troubleshooting and diagnosis for all issues using the technical resources, management and monitoring tools available
· Ensuring that all processes are followed; and all issues are owned through to resolution
· Suggesting and working to introduce continual improvement of services delivered by Services team

Must have the following technical skills/experience:
· Experience of working with Microsoft Windows Server
· Experience of working with Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Office 365
· Experience of Microsoft Windows 7 / 10 & Mac OS Operating Systems
· Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Powershell
· Familiarity with basic networking protocols - TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN, WAN
· Microsoft SharePoint Experience desirable
· Virtualisation experience (VMware and/or Hyper V) desirable
· Excellent English-speaking communications skills both technical and non-technical

A Full Driving License and own transport is required. The company also have an office in London and the North West. Visits could be around 3-4 times a month. Once established, travel to client sites would also be required, with overnight stays possible.

HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with a 30-minute unpaid break each work day; this may include evening and/or weekend work where required.
Due to the nature of the business the successful candidate will require a DBS check.
