Receptionists are often the first person that patients meet when they arrive at the practice. You will:

• Book patients for appointments

• Enter new patient details on the computer system

• Manage patients in the waiting room

• Advise on appropriate appointment ie Nurse, GP, advanced etc

As well as dealing with patients face-to-face, receptionists will be asked to:

• Manage phones

• Organise post

• File patient notes

• Help ensure patient details are correct and up-to-date on the computer system

• Chase lab reports, x-rays etc at GP request

• Undertake to complete tasks set by GPs

• Order stationary

• Support Head Receptionist and Practice Manager with solving IT problems
