Working for one of South East’s premier contractors in the provision and installation of commercial and bespoke mechanical systems, industrial renewable energy developments, access control systems, information technology infrastructure and fire, health & safety electrical planning and delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

• Produce accurate estimates of material and labour costs for the mechanical and electrical element of the project
• Prepare and send out accurate estimates and tender documentation
• Vet received quotes for material and labour costs and utilise negotiation skills to achieve 'best value'
• Evaluate technical Building Services requirements, estimating costs, determining prices and margins of all Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning services (HVAC)
• Create estimates/quotations to potential customers - ensuring both the customer and business needs are met and the estimate is line with requirements
• Evaluate bid opportunities and liaise with potential M&E clients, working within project deadlines to produce accurate estimates

Skills, know-how and experience required:

• Have a good understanding of technical M&E drawings and be able to prepare “take offs” from schematics
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Thorough and efficient wide supplier and subcontractor knowledge
• Understanding of associated mechanical and electrical services
• Commercial acumen to ensure tenders are financially sound
• Flexible in approach to deadlines
• Strong IT skills (including use of estimating software) are vital, as is the ability to use electronic portals for bid submissions
