Sales Team Leader

We’re looking for a driven, motivated and experienced individual to join a vibrant creative team in Folkestone. This is a contract role for 10-13 months (depending on start date). The role will be varied but will require a lead-by-example approach to managing a small team of Sales Advisors/Project Managers and ensure smooth running of day-to-day sales based activities in the office.

The chosen candidate will be required to start ASAP to allow time for training in Sales Advisor role prior to Team Leader role takeover.

Core duties will include:

• Managing incoming enquiries via our website and distributing workload amongst the team.
• Maintaining your own client base including loyal long-standing customers, providing excellent customer service and setting an example to your team through project management of your own.
• Continual management of Excel price sheets for all products.
• Problem solving – thinking on your feet to come to solutions in a calm and efficient manner including complaint management.
• Main contact for all core suppliers & responsible for reporting problems and finding suitable solutions to suit all parties.

Staff development and HR including:

• Conducting one-to-ones and appraisals.
• Running monthly sales team meetings.
• Regular recording of sales KPIs, using these to set targets based on individual and team performance.
• Managing the calendar including staff holidays.

Ideal candidate attributes:

• A very strong communicator, with excellent written and oral communication skills – not afraid to pick up the telephone.
• Good decision-making skills with a confident and level-headed approach.
• Leadership by example – keen to get ‘stuck in’ to help their team.
• Fantastic customer service skills; able to build rapport easily and maintain strong relationships.
• Reliable and trustworthy.
• Calm and mature attitude.
• Highly organised, able to multi-task and work efficiently regardless of volume.
• Good mathematical skills (GCSE grade C or above).
• Pro-active attitude and able to use their initiative.

Skills & Qualifications:

• A-C grades GSCE Maths and English.
• Degree or higher education equivalent.

Essential experience:

Must have practical experience and be trained in managing a team of people including the following:
• Performance management
• Able to conduce one to ones and appraisals
• Delegation and monitoring of team workload
• Training of employees
• Chair monthly meetings
• Monitoring performance and ensuring procedures are followed

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9 am - 5.30pm; 20 days holiday + bank holidays

Salary: £22,000 - £25,000, dependent on the candidate, A workplace pension will be provided.
