Buyer - Fixed Term (12 Month) - Medway - £23k-£28k

Your new company
Your new company, based in Medway, is a public-sector organisation which is looking to recruit a buyer for 10-12 months on a fixed term contract to cover absence within the existing team.

Your new role
Your new role will be centred around working with different areas of the business to identify specification and volume of goods and services as required and review expenditure to suggest areas for improvement to obtain best value for money. You will be required to undertake research of the marketplace and offer advice to internal customers on possible alternative supply options as well as review the requirement and identify the most appropriate contracting strategy to ensure compliance with SFIs, EU Regulations and national contracts. Drafting contract and tender documentation with associated terms and conditions in accordance with relevant policies/procedures. Producing and agree adjudication procedures to ensure objectivity and transparency in the contract award process. Provide professional procurement support and advice to internal customers in connection with their purchasing and contracting needs.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will need to be a strong character with proven track record of successfully applying public sector procurement regulations to internal customers within a large organisation. This includes, running the end to end tendering process, engaging with suppliers and negotiating terms to acquire best outcome for the business and therefore requires excellent communication skills. A strong knowledge of public sector frameworks, particularly OJEU, is essential to this role as well of experience in procuring across a range of categories and tender values. You will need to be diligent in your approach to work and have impeccable prioritisation and organisation skills.
