Our manufacturing and installation company are searching for a workshop operative to work at our Ramsgate workshop, involved in metalwork and woodwork manufacture for the elevator and escalator industry

Delivering bespoke materials in the elevator and escalator industry. You will be responsible from delivering the materials to various site in and around London in out own vehicles including Flat bed trucks and LWB vans.

We are looking for a hardworking and ambitious professional who can work on their feet for an entire shift. We prize speed and attention to detail, and experience in working in a trade environment.

Following instructions precisely, double-checking your own work, while maintaining high standards of safety and quality are all important aspects also.

Responsibilities within the role

• Work closely with the Warehouse Foreman to manufacture goods to the highest quality standards
• Using hand tools, power tools, and assist with using our machines to manufacture bespoke architectural finishes.
• Work with minimal supervision to carry out your work tasks
• Be able to identify and alert others to damaged materials
• Perform stock checks based on our inventory log
• Pay attention to the safety of yourselves and other at all times
• Be willing to learn and attend training courses (i.e Forklift truck etc)

Delivering a wide variety of items
Following delivery driving routes and time schedules
Recording deliveries on my clients bespoke system
Loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting and operating the delivery vehicle


Knowledge, skill and abilities needed for this position

• Previous experience in a trade is essential
• Forklift truck licence is preferable but not essential as training can be provided
• Ability to work on your feet all day
• Some lifting will be required, so a reasonable physical capability is expected
• Train and support new employees as they are brought in to the company
• Be comfortable working with minimum supervision
• Have a UK Driving Licence
• No Major Endorsements
• Have experience driving a Long Wheel Base Van

Please note the Workshop hours are 8am-4.30pm, whilst delivering could be as early as a 5am start. 40 hours minimum.
