We are proud to be working with an exciting, family owned business for an experienced Human Resources Manager . You will need to have good generalist HR knowledge, including knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, organizational development, employee relations, safety, employee engagement and employee development.
Responsibilities will include:
- Oversee all HR responsibilities.
- Ensure that the culture and values of the businesses are promoted throughout.
- Have a clear HR vision and strategy in place.
- Recruiting staff - this includes developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates.
- Reviewing staff handbooks and keeping them up to date.
- As and when required, negotiating with staff and their representatives (for example, trade union officials) on certain issues.
- Interpreting and advising on employment law.
- Support the Managers in dealing with grievances, disciplinary issues, absenteeism and lateness.
- Developing HR planning strategies which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements, according to the needs of the business.
- Oversee an effective appraisal system that is of benefit to both our employees and the business.
- Work with the General Manager to ensure that Health & Safety is being adhered to throughout the business
- Oversee the online training modules.
- Ensure that every new colleague is properly inducted into the business.
- Identify colleague training requirements.
- Ensure GDPR compliance.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should have a solid generalist HR background, strong organisational and admin skills and preferably be CIPD qualified with experience in dealing with the points above. Retail sector experience would be highly beneficial.
Further information
The hours of work are from 8.30am-5.30 Monday-Friday and you may also be required to work occasional weekends
