Job Title: Head Chef

Salary: £45,000

Hours: 45 hours over 5 days per week. Shifts between 6:30am and 11pm

Location: Tunbridge Wells



Overview:

Recognised as Tunbridge Wells' top hotel and also the best in Kent, my client is seeking a new Head Chef to join the team. The successful candidate will want to grow and develop the business and help the management team continue to grow and promote the food offering to ensure the restaurant is a destination of choice.



Responsibilities:

The successful individual will be responsible for all food operations including a 70-seat restaurant (serving breakfast, lunch and dinner) a 120-seat function room, bar food and room service.



With a focus on great food, cooked well and messed around with as little as possible, our new head chef will be responsible for developing a food offering that matches the brand standard. They will be equally happy producing the best burger or steak in town as catering for a six-course wedding breakfast or awards dinner.



The person we are looking for will ideally have head chef and management experience. Equally, if you are an aspiring head chef and have worked successfully as a senior sous/sous chef for more than a year this could be the leap into a senior position that you are looking for.

Needs:

* Ability to communicate effectively and work well with the front of house team ensuring a close working approach
* A comprehensive knowledge of kitchen stock management
* Proven experience in catering for large numbers of guests



Desirable:

* Knowledge of wines, spirits and food service
* A working knowledge of P & L accounts and budgeting
* A working knowledge of staff planning, training and development
