Due to the retirement of the current post holder a vacancy has arisen for a Manager of our Independent Living Support Service.

If you are a people person, able to manage team of dedicated workers in the community, have knowledge of older people's issues and have a background in social care and management, are organised, have the ability to keep accurate records and are able to use or learn our People Planner programme, have excellent communication skills and a good sense of humour, you could be the person for us!

Job Description

Reporting To: Chief Officer

Hours of work: 28 hours (4 days per week)

Place of work: Sevenoaks

THIS POSITION IS SUBJECT TO A DBS CHECK

Purpose of the post:

Due to the retirement of the current post holder a vacancy has arisen for a Manager of our Independent Living Support Service.

Key Activities:

Clients
Deal with all enquiries coming into the office regarding the Independent Living Support Service either on the telephone or in person.
Visit and assess clients to set up a new service or to review an existing service. This includes providing advice on the other services available to support client’s needs and liaising with clients, their families and associated representatives to provide an ongoing managed service as needs change.
Liaise with other services and organisations to help provide a full service for clients and their families.
Be aware of safeguarding concerns and raise these with relevant agencies/departments.
Attend meetings regarding the welfare of clients when requested.

Staff
Recruit, interview and manage a team of support workers. Provide support and training as required on an ongoing basis.
Provide back up support for all staff including standing in to provide cover for sickness and holidays.
Maintain and operate PeoplePlanner database– including planning rotas, organising time sheets, allocating clients and reconciling hours for wages and invoices.
Set up and maintain confidential records of all client and staff details. Log all concerns on an electronic system.

General
Ensure that the Independent Living Support Service is promoted wherever opportunities arise.
Take payments of invoices by phone and log details to support the finance team.
To carry out any other related duties as may be directed from time to time by the Chief Officer.
