Responsible for the day-to-day villa yield management of the James villas property portfolio; based on a regional split. The role is principally focused on maximising yields across the villa program, through development and implementation of effective pricing strategies, while providing insight and recommendations to improve product offering, based on sound analysis
This position will complement the existing Commercial Analyst within in the team, who will yield and analyse the remaining regions. You will work both individually and also part of a team for overall price strategy awareness. Overlap with the wider team; who primarily look after the revenue management, and negotiations, of all remaining components; Aviation, Car hire, Private Transfers and Travel Insurance, will also be crucial when creating a package price
Key tasks, responsibilities and accountabilities
• Revenue management of villa portfolio; based on regional split
• Daily and weekly reporting on all Sales & Commercial activity, including competitor analysis, search demand and in-depth research
• Prepare accurate reports for distribution to senior management, including key issues/trends
• Assist in the planning, present and execute agreed sales strategy, budgets & targets
• Develop and improve (where needed) existing reports within the Commercial function, as well as introducing new reports to help streamline the productivity of the department.
• Help to maintain the flow of communication between key personnel and departments in order to achieve company and team/departmental objectives
• Forecast and analyse data against budget figures on a weekly/monthly basis
• Assist in channel management of villas and provide key reports to identify risk and opportunities
• Taking initiative to streamline the processes and working methods within the Commercial department, ensuring the team is as efficient as possible.
• Good knowledge and on-going awareness of competitor activity and pricing policies
• Maintain a professional working relationship throughout with colleagues and suppliers
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required
Essential:
• Strong numerical skills
• Proficient in use of MS Excel (VLOOKUP/SUMIF/pivot table and charts)
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen
• Experience of yield (accommodation) management based on experience to maximize revenue and achieve the companies targets for occupancy and profit is essential
• Use of Power BI / Tableau, or similar reporting applications would be advantageous
• Strong reporting capabilities
• Effective communicator
• Ability to interrogate and decipher data
• Ability to turn data into useful metrics and charts
• A passion for and knowledge and experience of the Travel Industry
• Ability to work on individual tasks plus present and deliver findings to the team
• Ability to work on concurrent departure years due to the nature of travel booking periods
Desirable:
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Use of SQL, or similar data mining applications
• Proven history of building strong relationships both internally and externally
• Knowledge of Car hire, Transfers, Insurance & Holiday Ancillaries and their booking conditions/procedures
• Knowledge of Charter, No-Frills and Scheduled airlines and their booking conditions/procedures
• Ideally educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent)

• Strong commercial and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Self-motivated and ambitious with the ability to take the initiative and make decisions quickly
• Excellent verbal and written communication skill across all levels of the business
• Good time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
