Employment Type: Full time, permanent
Hours: 7:30 – 5:00 (Mon-Fri)
Holiday: 28 Days (Including Bank Holidays)

Job Description:

The candidate’s primary tasks will involve working on the design aspect of live projects on a day–to-day basis once a purchase order is received. The candidate will work with the other staff in the design team to ensure the project can be drawn within the clients’ lead time and the required site surveys are booked in.

- Liaise with Estimator to check what has been allowed for and that we have the latest architect/design drawings to work from.
- Produce detailed CAD drawings when required.
- Add item numbers to drawings already produced, when required.
- Produce very detailed cutting sheets (Microsoft Excel). Add detailed notes that relate to the drawings along with item numbers.
- Use of Magicut (Training provided Magicut optimising software)
- Produce check-off sheets for projects so the full team is aware of what has been ordered and due dates
- Document and upload this information to the Company Server Project folder
- Raise requisition forms for take-off materials, ironmongery and paints/lacquers
- Procurement of materials/ ironmongery. Ensure is fully documented in project folder.
- Document finish samples for clients – ensure these are fully labelled on a database and multiple samples are produced and issued to the client and workshop
- Deal with the client through the drawing approval process ensuring revisions are all picked up and drawings altered prior to issuing to Production.
- Print hard copies of drawings and packaging into project folder for workshop issue, along with any requisition forms so the Production Manager can use this to check off goods in, and issue projects to the joiners/machinists
- Liaise with subcontractors when required i.e. metalworkers and glass suppliers. Ensuring they have relevant drawings and information required.
- The candidate will be involved with project specific meetings with the Production Manager to run through the project when handing over.
- Liaise with the clients when required through the design process.
- Liaise with Production Management through the project to ensure any queries are dealt with and the programme is met.
- Liaise with Senior Management to ensure the smooth delivery of every project.
- Liaise with subcontractors to ensure items are manufactured correctly and programme dates and quality standards are met.
- First aid/ willing to take course (Not critical).


Desired skills & expertise:

- AutoDesk AutoCAD
- A strong understanding and experience in joinery manufacturing
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Process-driven with excellent time management skills.
- A methodical approach to work and an eye for detail, with a strong interest to help the company grow and maintain its reputation for quality and meeting programme.
- Share best practice
- A clean full UK driver’s licence.
- Efficient
- Reliable.

Note to candidate:

You will be given a desk with a dual screen computer linked to the company server for access to information required, plus telephone for local and external use. On busy occasions a Saturday morning may be required to ensure projects are on schedule.
