My client who is the leading charitable provider of Carers' support services in Kent are looking for a 'Head of Fundraising and Marketing'. This Head of Fundraising and Marketing role is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work with a Charity making a huge difference to the lives of Carers in Kent. You will be an integral part of the senior management team in a new role that sits at the heart of driving their fundraising and marketing development to deliver a range of services for Carers of all ages.

This role will attract someone who wants to lead a fundraising function but also enjoys the hands-on production of applications and bids.

Salary

£40,000 - £45,000 per annum.

Working hours

The role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday however the position holder should be flexible in their approach to hours / days worked as these will be dictated by operational needs.

Office base

This role is based at Wateringbury but travel will be expected to their other office in East Kent.



KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES;

Fundraising

* With the Senior Management Team review the current income generation situation for the Charity considering the future focus required such as contracts, grants, high level and long term donations from individual donors, charitable trusts and foundations.
* Take responsibility for the development of an organisational wide fundraising strategy with clear short, medium and long term goals including corporate revenue generation opportunities as well as community fundraising.
* Review required tender documentation for agreed grants, funding streams including lottery funding and write professional bid applications to required timescales.
* Implement fundraising evaluation and monitoring methods which will demonstrate and prove the impact of this new role on an ongoing basis.
* Plan and host fundraising events as part of the fundraising strategy recognising that events may be outside of office hours

Developing fundraising brand

* Plan, design and deliver a range of marketing materials across a range of media to maximise income and legacy donations.
* Create strong, appealing fundraising messages which can be used in fundraising initiatives as well on a digital platform.
* Coordinate all activity strands including the website, media, marketing of the charity as a whole and to ensure effective promotion of our projects.
* Communicate effectively and persuasively with potential and long term supporters using creative and engaging channels including written, verbal and electronic media.
* Create long term beneficial relationships, ensuring that there are feedback mechanisms for supporters to update them at regular intervals on the difference that their input has made.

Other

* Provide regular, written reports as required to ensure that key stakeholders are kept informed of current fundraising activities.

* Keep up to date on best practice and developments within the charity sector generally and particularly changes to fundraising regulations and codes of practice.

EXPERIENCE;

* Solid track record of fundraising development experience in a similar level role
* Implementing and leading on the strategic direction of a fundraising plan
* Proven success in securing gifts from a variety of sources including private individuals, businesses, charitable trusts and foundations

* Writing effective and compelling applications.
* Strong consultative networking and negotiation skills.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to build and retain positive relationships, connect with a wide range of stakeholders
* Sound financial acumen and budget management skills
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Ability to plan, balance and cope with competing priorities and meet deadlines and targets.
* Skilled at working effectively with limited resources.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Working knowledge of the principles of major gift fundraising
* Understanding of a range of corporate, grant and donor fundraising activity
* High level computer literacy with working knowledge of all Office packages
* Good knowledge of the use of social media options as a fundraising and marketing tool.
