SEND Teachers/Tutors
Salary: £26,000 p.a. to £36,000p.a. pro rata to 4 days per week (dependent on qualifications, skills and experience).
Oakley College is an exciting new development in the Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells district, which opened in September 2018 and is already successful. Our success in meeting needs has led to expansion for September 2019. We have four programmes to meet broad learner profiles:
1. A programme of study and work-related learning and experience that will lead to further vocational training, internships/ apprenticeships and employment.
2. A vocational programme providing a further 1, 2 or 3 years for young adults to continue to develop their personal and social development also independent living skills so that they can contribute to society in a number of ways and live an independent or semi-independent life.
3. A personal development programme providing a further 1, 2 or 3 years for young adults to continue to develop their personal development and independent living skills so that they can contribute to society in a number of ways and live an independent or semi-independent life in a supported environment.
4. A personal development programme providing a further 1, 2 or 3 years for young adults to continue to develop their personal development and independent living skills whilst transitioning to Adult Social Care.
We are now expanding and seek two outstanding Teachers/Tutors to join our vibrant, friendly, positive and forward-looking provision, working four days per week. This is an excellent opportunity to be fully involved with this much need provision that is anticipated to expand and develop significantly over the next five years.
The successful candidates will have an excellent track record of teaching and/or instruction and/or coaching of young people, with clear evidence of students’ success, together with evidence of successfully working with others to promote life opportunities for young people. One of the successful candidates also needs experience of AAC and manual handling. You must enjoy team working and be willing to undertake further professional development/training. We require someone with a positive attitude, drive and enthusiasm, with a strong commitment to inclusive principles, supporting our ethos of providing a safe, positive, aspirational environment for all our young people, enabling them to reach their full potential and develop their skills for life, their independence and/or employability.
