Quality Engineer

Working within the Quality Department, the role will involve working with teams to ensure continuous improvement of product quality and processes. You must have strong interpersonal skills and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
A customer facing role with regular face to face meetings with key customers, requiring attention to details, confidence combined with a professional approach.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• A proven track record in an electronics manufacturing environment, ideally in a Product Quality Assurance role.
• Will ideally have a background / knowledge of SM assembly and hand assembly processes.
• Proven structured approach to problem solving with experience of quality tools and methodologies.
• Ability to lead problem solving teams.
• Strong analytical skills are essential.
• A proven track record in implementing measurable quality and process improvements.
• Detailed knowledge of IPC610 and J-STD-001 (latest versions) is a key advantage.
• Detailed knowledge of ISO9001:2015 is an advantage.
• Qualified Lead Auditor with experience in Quality System and Process based auditing.
• Competent in MS Office.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• You will seek to understand issues causing production defects and undertake actions to ensure root cause closure.
• Identify key areas for improvement based on data analysis.
• Conduct production audits and advise on process improvements.
• Provide input as part of the New Product Introduction (NPI) teams, regarding documentation clarity, manufacturability, and risk reduction.
• Maintain Customer Complaints database and generate 8D / Corrective Action reports, within a timely manner.
• Liaise directly with customer to resolve quality issues.
• Maintain the Supplier NCR database and ensure NCR / Corrective Action are closed out with the supplier.
• Collect production assembly defect data and produce analysis and KPI's.
• Provide hands on support to production and technical queries as they arise.
