Purpose of the Job:

Promote the change vision to staff at all levels of the business, bring order to complex situations, and keep a focus on business objectives. Work with senior people to ensure maximum improvements are made in the business operations as projects deliver their products into operational use.

Take full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful completion of complex projects (with significant business, political, or high-profile impact, and high-risk dependencies), ensuring that realistic project quality, change control and risk management processes are maintained, and manage the expectations of all project stakeholders.

The post holder must demonstrate a commercial awareness and provide end to end financial accountability, including the provision of accurate appropriate & timely budget reporting and client charging.

Main duties and responsibilities:

* Plan, schedule, lead and co-ordinate all project activities, from proposal initiation through to benefit realisation
* Be accountable for the accurate estimation of project costs and timescales required to support successful project delivery.
* Manage exceptions, slippage and issues and highlight extra activities wherever gaps in the project are identified.
* Ensure coherence of the project, by monitoring changes within the scope. Reassess whether projects continue to meet business objectives and to use funds efficiently, ensuring that the project is managed to realise business benefits.
* Ensure appropriate control stage gates exist within the project and that realistic project, quality, and risk plans are prepared and maintained for projects and sub-projects.
* Monitor and control team performance against plans. Maintain effective financial and project progress forecasting and reports as appropriate.
* Define and make recommendations on the project management framework
* Ensure that full account is taken of the practicalities of integrating new technical capabilities into the business
* Work with those delivering the IT service (including suppliers where appropriate) to ensure the project is delivered cost effectively.
* Ensure that stakeholders understand available IT services, and promote financial and commercial awareness in order to deliver value-for-money.
* Negotiate at senior level on technical and commercial issues, to ensure that customers, suppliers and other stakeholders understand and agree what will meet their needs, and that appropriate service level agreements are defined and put in place.

It is essential that you have Prince 2 Practitioner / AMP Practitioner Qualification and MSP Foundation/Practitioner Qualification. You will have a high level of experience in all levels of project management and change practice, proficient with methods, techniques and tools for planning, organising, resourcing, directing, co-ordinating and monitoring ongoing (non-project) activities. You will also be an expert in the application and techniques for Project delivery, Business cases, Project Initiation, Product Based Planning, Project Reporting and other key deliverables
