We are looking for an experienced book-keeper/accountant to join our business support team. The role will consist of:

1) External visits to clients to carry out book-keeping and the preparation of management accounts.
2) In-house book-keeping and management accounts for clients.
3) Dealing with Sage and Xero queries for clients.
4) Helping clients to implement new Xero systems and provide the necessary training.
5) Working alongside our cloud accounts manager to assist in larger projects and the firm’s overall cloud offering to clients.
6) Supervising and training junior team members on Xero.

Friend & Grant Ltd are a well established, progressive Chartered Accountancy practice based in Rochester, Kent. The firm provides high quality accountancy, taxation and business consultancy services to hundreds of businesses throughout Kent and has grown rapidly over recent years. One of our main focuses in recent years has been to build up our cloud offering, which has resulted in a high percentage of our clients now using cloud accounts and business software solutions.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of all aspects of cloud accounting and will have worked for at least 5 years in a professional accountancy practice with a large emphasis on Sage and Cloud software. Qualifications are not essential, but someone who is AAT qualified or a Chartered Certified accountant would be preferred.

The main emphasis of the job will be on cloud accounting- automating client systems, extracting management accounts and looking for opportunities to help our clients save time and receive better business information.

The successful candidate should have:

• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.

The basic salary will be between £28,000 and £30,000 plus bonus depending on experience.

In addition, after 3 months you will be able to join the company's pension scheme.
