This is an exciting opportunity for a Grounds Person to join our team in a prestigious Boarding and Day School in Dover.
Dover College is looking for an experienced Grounds Operative who will be able to handle the day-to-day tasks necessary to keep the College grounds and gardens looking their best. This sort of work requires the successful candidate to have a strong sense of attention to detail, enthusiasm, energy and can-do attitude.
The ideal person will have initiative; will be willing to collaborate with the ability to work within a team. You will therefore also have a professional appearance and attitude. Duties will include both mechanical and manual operations and will cover the broad spectrum of gardens and grounds maintenance including edging, grass cutting, weeding, planting of trees/shrubs and seasonal bedding, pruning, small tree works, leaf clearance, watering, seasonal lawn maintenance, beds and borders maintenance and keeping paths clear. Grounds duties of grass and artificial sports pitch maintenance including cricket table preparation, marking out and erection and dismantling of sports equipment for a wide variety of sports.
The role is Full time 40 hours per week. You will be entitled to 26 days paid holiday plus paid bank holidays.
