Test Lead - Medway, Kent - £40,500 + Bonus & Excellent Benefits - ASAP Start

My client has another great permanent opportunity for a Test Lead to join their growing team based in Kent.

You will be responsible for a team based in the UK and will be required to work closely with the testing management team, core projects, quality and IT teams to meet the required testing delivery expectations of the business roadmap and the overall business strategy.

Daily Duties

* Mentor test analyst and junior members of the testing
* Monthly one to one sessions with assigned resource
* Where required, line manage and coach assigned staff, including all aspects of performance management, development, conduct, sickness management, appraisals, employee administration and recruitment.
* Develop and maintain a detailed working knowledge and level of expertise to support each system / project and testing phase.
* Establish and maintain the capacity planning for the team across each project inputting into resource needs to meet project timelines - highlighting resource, risks to approved timelines and environmental clashes.
* Manage the team to ensure they create and maintain detailed test scenarios, test cases and test scripts which are fit for purpose for each project and test phase in line with the agreed testing policy and procedures and agreed strategy and approach.
* Ensure project deliverables are met and delivered on time for each project and test phase. Escalate to Test Manager and Group Head of Testing where appropriate.
* Prepare regular reporting and status updates as required by line manager for assigned projects and areas of expertise.
* Ensure all test results are accurately recorded with the required documentation during all phases of test execution.
* Manage and define the test strategy, approach and governance for each approved project and test phase considering automated and manual requirements in line with the goals and objectives of the business/ agreed project scope. Ensure the assigned test team adherence to the approved testing strategy, approach and governance. This will include multiple projects across various systems and product lines.
* Understand and manage end to end test process, implementing quality recommendations with support from the test management team, Test Lead's and Senior Test Analyst.
* Manage, define and monitor test metrics for each project and test phase.
* Conduct and manage quality assurance activities to ensure that the function is managing in line with agreed standards, and KPIs for each project or change.
* Attend and chair (where required) team and business meetings to update on progress and status of work schedule and testing delivery.
* Assist and drive forward development of automated and manual testing strategies.
* Understand and analyse technical infrastructure, system and environment requirements as technical testing and business SME for each project. Identify and manage technical risks and issues for each project.



Skills Experience

* Previous experience testing core systems is essential
* Experience of working alongside BA's, PMs and Development teams are essential.
* Thorough knowledge of the software development cycle and the defect resolution process is essential
* Thorough knowledge of System Testing, regression testing and User Acceptance frameworks is essential
* Thorough understanding of structured test methods and processes covering manual and automated testing is essential
* Writing SQL queries and database interrogation through structured SQL queries is desirable
