A well respected and prestigeous Law Firm are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Legal Secretary to join their Residential Property department at their busy Tunbridge Wells office.
Previous experience as a legal secretary within residential property is a requirement for this role.
You will be joining one other secretary, providing direct support to the team to enable the fee-earners to operate at optimum efficiency. This will include but will not be limited to the main responsibilities listed below. You are expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative.
-Prepare correspondence and documents via digital dictation.
-Answer telephone enquiries promptly in a polite and confident manner, taking clear and processed messages.
-Administer filing which will include the opening, closing and retrieval of client files in accordance with the firm's procedures and Lexcel compliance.
-Scanning incoming post to the firm's case management system
-Preparing mail and enclosures for despatch
-Making appointments, arranging meeting rooms and maintaining an up to date calendar for your fee-earners
-Submitting search requests and using the Land Registryportal for ordering documents and making applications to register transfers/mortgages
-Drafting and sending sale contracts together with appropriate documentation
-Dealing with post exchange formalities such as searches, SDLT Returns, completion statements, drafting Transfers and preparing completions information and undertaking forms
-Dealing with matters on the day of completion and post completion matters such as SDLT payments and form submissio, service of notices, Land Registry applications using both hard forms and the Land Registry portal and liaising with clients and mortgages.
-Supervising temporary secretarial staff
