We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for our client in the South East.
They are looking for an individual with significant cost management experience across a number of sectors and a demonstrable ability to influence and manage complex, multi-dimensional relationships with internal and external stakeholders will suit this role.
Key responsibilities will include;
* Management of all procurement activities including supply-chain analysis, development and implementation of sourcing and procurement strategies, estimating and cost planning, prequalification, tender and negotiation of Frameworks and contracts and Framework and contract award recommendations, contract administration, cost management and claims management.
* Oversee and direct the integration, co-ordination, development and execution of multiple procurement activities to deliver contracts and frameworks for works, goods and services contracts.
* Oversee and direct the management of estimating and cost planning for multiple projects taking account of trends in construction and engineering industry market economics and understanding their impact on cost and price.
* Oversee and direct the management of construction, engineering, supply and service contracts.
* Oversee and direct the management of project suppliers, advising on the identification and management of potential risks to commercial agreements and supplier performance and escalating concerns, as necessary.
* Significant experience in estimating and cost management across a broad spectrum of project types and values with evidence of successful delivery of driving value from projects utilising the NEC and JCT forms of contract
* Lead on complex contract negotiations, including the formulation of negotiation parameters, analysis and interpretation of commercial data and demonstration of flexibility whilst achieving negotiation objectives.
* Development of procurement and commercial strategies for the various works and services delivery requirements for approval by the Client.
* Commercial and business development skills with a track record of maximising income generation opportunities.
About the person
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
* RICS accredited degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
* A professional qualification such as MRICS or equal is desirable
* Experience of budgeting, cost control, estimating, interim and final accounts
* Experience of tender procedures and contract administration
* Experience of working within the design and construction industry
* Strong negotiation skills
* Total IT literacy with excellent communication skills
* Ability to work autonomously and to tight deadlines
* Experience gained in a housing or public sector environment is desirable
* Experience at a senior level in all aspects of management of construction projects, i.e. tendering, estimating quantity surveying, project management etc
