Could you deliver high quality psychological/emotional support to Hospice patients, their families and carers?
Full time (37.5 hours), part-time considered.
The Hospice in the Weald Counselling & Support Service offers counselling free of charge to patients, their families and carers.
We provide counselling to patients while they are staying on the In-Patient Ward or attending the Hospice Day Service, as well as when they are under the care of Hospice at Home. Our counsellors are members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and are trained to work with adults individually, in couples or in groups. We also provide support to children and young people by supporting their parents or other adults.
We are one of the winners of the BACP 2012 Adapting Counselling and Psychotherapy Services Award.
With a Diploma in Counselling from a BACP accredited institution you will either be Accredited or working towards Accreditation, to submit within 6 months. You will also have a minimum of 300 hours of supervised counselling practice and experience of working with grief, attachment, separation and loss with an understanding of, and ability to use, more than one theoretical approach. You will be able to work with a wide range of presenting issues and clients, managing your own caseload and be experienced in working in a dynamic team environment.
Training and career development are key to our staff support and you will have opportunities to develop both personally and professionally. Our counsellors also attend regular supervision as a professional requirement.
Alongside the opportunity to work in a truly rewarding environment, benefits include a generous pension scheme or ability to transfer an NHS pension, generous holiday allowance, including long service recognition and the opportunity to buy and sell annual leave, subsidised restaurant and free parking.
