This is a very busy and varied role and, as we are involved in many, wide-ranging projects, we would like a bright, enthusiastic person to be part of the team that contributes to their success.
In addition to our consultancy work, we run our own publications and events so are responsible for every part of the process from conception through to completion.
Your role will involve:
• design for marketing materials and editorial layouts;
• website updating;
• social media;
• e-marketing;
• database management;
• dealing with editorial and seminar contributors;
• client support for the sales team;
• venue planning;
• and much more.
We are a small team delivering well-respected, market-leading products so the level of personal responsibility is high, but you will be given training and we pride ourselves on being supportive employers.
Person specification
We would expect the successful candidate to be competent in many of the areas listed above, but would be very surprised to find someone already expert in every category and holding all those skills at this stage of their career – if you are, we will be very happy to have you!
The right person is more important than the history on your cv or specific qualifications but you will still need to convince us that you will be able to succeed in this position and will need:
• to be able to prove your design skills using software packages, such as InDesign or Quark Xpress;
• an excellent working knowledge of various forms of social media;
• competence in basic Office packages;
• excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• a keen attention to detail;
• a strong desire to learn new skills;
• to be literate and well-organised and able to work under the pressure of deadlines;
• good time-management when working on project-based schedules.
Being able to provide evidence of your own marketing abilities would be an advantage.
